2025 DESIGN TRENDS  TO WATCH IN 2025 AND BEYOND

As we head into 2025 and beyond, the world of interior design is evolving with exciting new trends that reflect both creativity and a return to classic elements. From bold statement pieces to the resurgence of color, here are some of the key trends you'll be seeing in design this year and in the years to come:

1. Bolder is Better
Clients are embracing bolder, more adventurous designs, particularly in spaces meant for entertaining. No longer confined to neutral tones, vibrant colors, striking contrasts, and dramatic textures are taking center stage in kitchens, dining rooms, and living areas. Think of spaces that tell a story through custom furniture, artistic feature walls, and unexpected patterns. Whether it's a large-scale statement light fixture or a colorful accent wall, bold design elements are helping clients create spaces that are not only functional but also full of personality.

2. The Return of Colour
Colour is making a major comeback in 2025. After years of soft pastels and muted neutrals, deeper, richer tones are making waves. Maroons and deep burgundies paired with soft blues create a beautiful, sophisticated contrast that feels both classic and modern. For those who prefer a more subtle approach, earthy tones like olive greens, warm umbers, and soft neutrals are gaining popularity. These hues evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature, making them perfect for spaces where relaxation and comfort are a priority.

3. Deep in the Woods
Warm and darker toned timbers are here to stay. If you hadn’t already noticed, the return of dark mahogany or rich walnut tones has been creeping into our homes for a while now, thanks to the embrace of vintage and antiques. These deeper wood tones bring a sense of luxury and depth, grounding spaces with their natural richness. Expect to see these darker woods incorporated into cabinetry, furniture, and architectural details, providing a timeless counterpoint to modern designs.

4. Super Saturated Spaces
Colour drenching is one of the most exciting techniques to watch in 2025. By using varying tones of a single color on walls, ceilings, and furnishings, designers are creating spaces with depth, energy, and an overall sense of cohesion. This technique allows for a more immersive experience, where every element in the room feels connected. The key to making color drenching work is balancing saturation with subtlety. Layering different shades of one color across various elements — from furniture to textiles — results in a harmonious and dynamic environment that feels both modern and timeless.

5. Quality First
As clients continue to prioritise long-term investments in their homes, the emphasis on quality craftsmanship and materials is stronger than ever. Investment pieces — whether it's custom cabinetry, a statement sofa, or hand-crafted décor — are being chosen for their timeless appeal, durability, and design integrity. Sustainability plays a major role here, with many people opting for pieces that are made to last, both in terms of style and substance. In 2025, thoughtful design and a focus on lasting materials will continue to define the most luxurious and enduring interiors.

6. The Rise of Multi-Functional Spaces
As living spaces continue to shrink in urban environments, there’s an increasing demand for designs that maximise functionality without sacrificing style. Multi-functional spaces are becoming more popular, with rooms serving double or even triple duty. Whether it’s a living room that transforms into a home office or a dining area that doubles as a play space, innovative design solutions are enabling clients to get more out of their homes. Furniture that adapts to changing needs, such as modular sofas or expandable dining tables, is expected to be a top trend.

7. Vintage & Modern Fusion
A growing trend is the blending of vintage and modern design elements, where classic pieces find their place alongside contemporary designs. This fusion adds character and warmth to interiors, creating spaces that feel lived-in yet fresh. Think a vintage leather armchair paired with a modern steel coffee table or a mid-century modern lamp against a bold, contemporary backdrop. This combination is a great way to personalise a space, making it feel unique and timeless.

8. Natural Materials & Textures
As sustainability continues to influence design, natural materials like stone, wood, and clay are making a strong comeback in 2025. These materials not only bring warmth and texture to spaces, but they also connect us to the earth, offering a sense of grounding and balance. In addition, tactile textures such as linen, wool, and cork are being used in upholstery, flooring, and accessories to create a multi-sensory experience that invites touch and comfort.

9. Curves and Soft Lines
In contrast to the sharp lines and angles of previous years, curves and soft, organic shapes are becoming a defining feature of furniture and architecture in 2025. From rounded sofas to circular dining tables, these shapes bring a sense of flow and softness to spaces, creating a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Expect to see curved lines in everything from furniture design to architectural elements like archways and windows, adding fluidity to modern interiors.

These trends are a reflection of our evolving tastes and a desire for homes that offer not just comfort, but also individuality and longevity. As we move into 2025, expect interiors to become bolder, more personalized, and more sustainable than ever before.

A new year is the perfect time to reset your home and create spaces that feel organized, functional, and welcoming. Here are 10 practical tips to help you get started: Start Small - Begin with one drawer, shelf, or corner at a time. Tackling smaller areas prevents overwhelm and allows you to see progress quickly. Sort by Category - Instead of decluttering room by room, try sorting by categories like books, clothes, or kitchenware. This method, inspired by the KonMari approach, makes it easier to evaluate what you truly need. The Three-Pile Rule - As you declutter, create three piles: Keep, Donate/Sell, and Discard. Be honest with yourself—if you haven’t used an item in the past year, it’s likely time to let it go. Declutter Paper Clutter - Go paperless where possible. Scan important documents and store them digitally. Recycle old receipts, expired warranties, and unnecessary paperwork. Organise Storage Spaces - Invest in stylish storage solutions that work with your home’s aesthetic. Consider baskets, custom cabinetry, or shelving to keep items tidy and accessible. Refresh with New Arrangements - Rearrange your furniture and accessories for a fresh perspective. Even small tweaks like repositioning artwork or swapping cushions can make a big impact. Adopt the “One In, One Out” Rule - For every new item you bring into your home, commit to removing an old one. This prevents clutter from building up again. Maximize Vertical Space - Utilise walls and vertical storage solutions to create more space. Add hooks, floating shelves, or tall cabinets to declutter surfaces. Let Go of “Someday” Items - Items you’ve been saving “just in case” may no longer serve you. Evaluate their actual usefulness and let go of things that don’t fit your lifestyle anymore. Incorporate Fresh Elements - After decluttering, add fresh touches like plants, scented candles, or Pantone’s Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse, to breathe new life into your interiors. Need Help? Decluttering is only the first step! ABP Interiors offers services like custom storage solutions, furniture selection, and re-styling consultations to help you transform your space into a haven. Planning is key to a beautiful and functional kitchen. It takes time, research, and sometimes the help of a professional, like A Blind Pash Interiors, to ensure you get everything exactly the way you want it. Your kitchen, needs to not only look great, it must be functional. It’s imperative that your kitchen be a room you enjoy spending time in, regardless of whether you’re cooking or cleaning. The kitchen is an important room in a home, so if you find the prospect of carrying out a kitchen renovation completely overwhelming, maybe start by compiling a list of ideas and specific items you would like in your new kitchen. The classic ‘work triangle’ usually works very effectively for thinking about the layout. This refers to the positioning of the sink, stove, and refrigerator in a triangular pattern.

One of our favored services involves assisting clients in selecting, supplying, and managing the installation of their window coverings. Beyond practical benefits like privacy and light control, window coverings such as curtains, blinds, or plantation shutters can significantly enhance a space's aesthetics. Deciding where and when to use them and choosing the right fabric may not always be straightforward. However, we provide some tips below. Purpose and Function The first question to consider is the purpose of the window covering. Is it meant to: Completely block out light at night. Filter sunlight or glare from a west-facing window in the afternoon. Ensure privacy from overlooking neighbors. Conceal an unattractive view. Improve energy efficiency and retain heat. Plantation shutters can be quite versatile. For instance, in bathrooms where privacy is paramount, they are an excellent choice. The louvres allow you to regulate the light, providing complete privacy when closed. Moreover, if you need to obscure an unsightly view or where frosted glass is necessary, they offer a sleek and streamlined look.

Throw blankets aren't just for keeping warm; they're an essential part of your home's decor. They can add a splash of color, texture, and personality to any room. Here's how you can style your throw blanket to enhance your home's aesthetic. Selecting a throw blanket When selecting a throw blanket, consider the color scheme and style of your room. A contrasting color can make the throw stand out, while a complementary color can help it blend in with your decor. Consider the material as well; a chunky knit blanket adds a cozy feel, while a silk or velvet throw adds a touch of luxury. Positioning the Throw Blanket How you position your throw blanket can significantly alter the room's look. For a casual look, drape it loosely over the back or arm of a sofa. For a more formal appearance, fold it neatly and place it at the foot of a bed or across an ottoman.
