How to Kickstart Your 2025 Home Projects

As we approach the end of the year, it’s the perfect time to start planning for your 2025 home projects. Whether you’re dreaming of a full-scale renovation, designing a single room, or simply refreshing your space, taking the time to plan now can ensure a smooth, stress-free process in the new year. Here’s how to get started:

1. Define Your Vision

Take time to visualise what you want from your space. Consider how you use it daily, how you’d like it to feel, and the aesthetic you’re drawn to. Gathering inspiration from design books, magazines, and online platforms like Pinterest or Instagram can help you shape your vision.

2. Set a Realistic Budget

Budgeting is a critical step in the planning process. Outline your financial parameters early on to ensure you can achieve your goals without surprises. Remember to include a contingency for unexpected costs, especially for larger projects.

3. Create a Timeline

Many design projects take longer than expected, especially when custom pieces or materials are involved. If you want your project completed by a specific date, like the holiday season or a milestone event, work backward to establish when you’ll need to start.

4. Consider Hiring a Designer

Partnering with a professional designer can take your project from good to exceptional. At ABP Interiors, we guide you through every step—from concept development and sourcing materials to managing contractors and installation. Our expertise ensures that your space is both functional and beautiful.

5. Prioritise Quality

Investing in quality materials, furniture, and finishes is key to creating a space that stands the test of time. Thoughtfully selected pieces and durable materials will make your home not only beautiful but also practical for years to come.

6. Start Early

It’s never too early to start planning. The sooner you define your vision and engage a design professional, the more options you’ll have for materials, customisations, and timelines.

Looking Ahead

At ABP Interiors, we specialise in helping our clients bring their dream homes to life. Whether you’re looking to redesign a single room, create custom joinery, or embark on a complete home renovation, we’re here to make the process enjoyable and rewarding.

A ROMANTIC ENGLISH COTTAGE I’m beyond excited to share that one of my projects has been featured on The Design Files! This project has been a labor of love, transforming room by room over several years, and I couldn’t be more proud of the final result. A heartfelt thank you to my wonderful clients, Posey and Marc, for allowing me to bring their vision to life—it’s been an incredible journey. We created a distinctive English cottage-inspired aesthetic, where colour and pattern are at the heart of the design, blending prints, feminine hues, and luxurious textiles to craft a truly romantic space. Planning is key to a beautiful and functional kitchen. It takes time, research, and sometimes the help of a professional, like A Blind Pash Interiors, to ensure you get everything exactly the way you want it. Your kitchen, needs to not only look great, it must be functional. It’s imperative that your kitchen be a room you enjoy spending time in, regardless of whether you’re cooking or cleaning. The kitchen is an important room in a home, so if you find the prospect of carrying out a kitchen renovation completely overwhelming, maybe start by compiling a list of ideas and specific items you would like in your new kitchen. The classic ‘work triangle’ usually works very effectively for thinking about the layout. This refers to the positioning of the sink, stove, and refrigerator in a triangular pattern.

One of our favored services involves assisting clients in selecting, supplying, and managing the installation of their window coverings. Beyond practical benefits like privacy and light control, window coverings such as curtains, blinds, or plantation shutters can significantly enhance a space's aesthetics. Deciding where and when to use them and choosing the right fabric may not always be straightforward. However, we provide some tips below. Purpose and Function The first question to consider is the purpose of the window covering. Is it meant to: Completely block out light at night. Filter sunlight or glare from a west-facing window in the afternoon. Ensure privacy from overlooking neighbors. Conceal an unattractive view. Improve energy efficiency and retain heat. Plantation shutters can be quite versatile. For instance, in bathrooms where privacy is paramount, they are an excellent choice. The louvres allow you to regulate the light, providing complete privacy when closed. Moreover, if you need to obscure an unsightly view or where frosted glass is necessary, they offer a sleek and streamlined look.

Throw blankets aren't just for keeping warm; they're an essential part of your home's decor. They can add a splash of color, texture, and personality to any room. Here's how you can style your throw blanket to enhance your home's aesthetic. Selecting a throw blanket When selecting a throw blanket, consider the color scheme and style of your room. A contrasting color can make the throw stand out, while a complementary color can help it blend in with your decor. Consider the material as well; a chunky knit blanket adds a cozy feel, while a silk or velvet throw adds a touch of luxury. Positioning the Throw Blanket How you position your throw blanket can significantly alter the room's look. For a casual look, drape it loosely over the back or arm of a sofa. For a more formal appearance, fold it neatly and place it at the foot of a bed or across an ottoman.
